A 20-year-old student from the University of Alabama has gone missing while on a spring break trip in Barcelona, raising concern among family, friends, and authorities. James “Jimmy” Gracey, originally from Elmhurst, Illinois, was last seen around 3 a.m. on March 17 after spending time at a waterfront nightclub. His sudden disappearance has prompted an urgent international search effort.
According to his mother, Jimmy had been out with friends at a popular nightlife spot before the group became separated late in the evening. He was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants, along with a gold chain featuring a rhinestone cross. His family has been actively sharing details online, hoping that increased awareness will help locate him as quickly as possible.

Authorities have since recovered Jimmy’s cellphone following the arrest of another individual, according to a family spokesperson. However, he never made it back to the Airbnb where he was expected to stay with friends. This development has added to the growing concern, as investigators work to piece together his movements during the early morning hours.
Reports indicate that police are reviewing surveillance footage and exploring all possible leads. His father has traveled to Spain to assist in the search and is working closely with local law enforcement, including regional authorities. The family is also in contact with the U.S. State Department as efforts continue to locate the missing student.

As the search intensifies, supporters across the United States are sharing messages of hope and urging anyone with information to come forward. Jimmy is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds. His disappearance serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly situations can change, especially while traveling abroad, and many are hoping for his safe return.
